Jeri came to one of my art shows with a good friend of ours. We talked about my unique designs and how I love doing memorial jewelry. I told her about one of my favorite clients who had recently lost her son and what an honor it was for me to design a number of jewelry pieces from stones he collected as a little boy. Knowing how much that meant to me, Jeri asked if I could create memorial jewelry for her, with a pair of elk eye teeth. I had never worked with teeth before but as she described them to me, I was intrigued and up for the challenge.
She came to my in-home studio and unveiled a beautiful pair of elk eye teeth. Her father had bagged an 8 point elk buck in Montana; then carried the teeth around in his pocket to give them a natural polish. Jeri inherited these special teeth after tragically losing her dad in an accident over 35 years ago. Just knowing he carried them every day, they mean the world to her.
Thank you Jeri…it touches my heart and is truly an honor to be entrusted with creating a beautiful piece of jewelry from such special treasures! I hope you will enjoy them for many years to come.
